FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Mobile Website for Legislative InformationHARRISBURG – A new website will make it easier for users of mobile devices to access legislative information, according to Senator Jane Orie (R-Allegheny). The website, www.palegis.us, is designed for users of mobile devices such as the iPhone, BlackBerry, and Droid. Visitors can use the site to contact members of the General Assembly, to search for bills by number or keyword, to read bill text, and to access information about legislative committees. "In the last decade I have seen a tremendous increase in contacts on legislative matters from constituents through email and websites. As technology advances we need to ensure that the public can receive information in a user-friendly format, whether they are using their cell phones or other similar devices." Orie said. "This website for mobile devices provides easy access to information that is commonly asked for by citizens." The mobile website was developed by the Legislative Data Processing office. Suggestions for improvement are welcome and may be e-mailed to webmaster@legis.state.pa.us. CONTACT: Mike Sarfert |
