Senator Jane Clare Orie (R-40), along with her colleague Senator John Pippy (R-37), will present the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens with a $500,000 grant from the state's Redevelopment Capital Assistance Fund.

Phipps applied for the grant for the purpose of developing a conservatory campus of national importance.  The expansion will allow for improved maintenance and horticultural workspace, climate-controlled storage and new centralized offices for education and administration.

"This expansion will boost the outreach of the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens to more tourists," Orie said, "This increase will provide a positive economic impact to the region as well as provide for new jobs."
