Senator Orie to Host 2007 Grant Seminar in Cranberry Township

Senator Jane Orie announced today that she will be hosting a grant seminar at the Cranberry Municipal Building in Cranberry Township on Thursday, April 19, 2007, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The seminar will offer municipalities, school districts, fire departments, libraries, and non-profit organizations an opportunity to speak one-on-one with representatives from various government agencies about how to apply for grants through their departments.

"This is a great opportunity to learn how our government can help your community tackle projects or issues that may require financial assistance," Orie said. "Rarely do you have so many resources at your fingertips in one place."

Agencies scheduled to attend include: Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Department of General Services (Surplus Equipment), PA Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency, PENNVEST, Office of State Fire Commissioner, Center for Schools and Communities, Butler Council Of Governments, North Hills Council Of Governments, PACE, FEMA and the Commonwealth Libraries.

Orie added that anyone with questions or requiring additional information should contact her Cranberry office at (724) 776-3500 or Alan Berlin, staff grant assistant at (717) 783-7353.
