Orie Presents $100,000 Grant to the Allegheny County EMS OST

HARRISBURG – State Senator Jane Clare Orie (R-Allegheny) will present a $100,000grant to the Allegheny County Emergency Medical Service Operation Support Team (ACEMS/OST).  Charged with providing direct support to local agencies, the Allegheny County EMS OST, will be able to assist local command personnel with resources not normally available to them.

The funds will be used to purchase an emergency delivery vehicle.  The vehicle will be capable of maintaining the readiness of equipment and to rapidly deploy the emergency medical equipment during the initial minutes of a disaster event upon the request of any Allegheny County EMS agency.

Senator Orie will present a mock check to the Allegheny County Emergency Medical Service Operational Support Team on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 10am at Ross/West View EMSA, 5325 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
